Tri Aryono Hadi

Marine Biologist

Tri was born and raised in south coast of Java, Indonesia, likes spending his time on beaches while playing his acoustic guitar, marvelling at the beauty of nature and observing how local people interact with it. While he knows that this beauty won’t last forever, he is determined to find sustainable ways to benefit both the environment and the local community.

Tri has been working on a project focusing on the resilience potential of Indonesian coral reefs over 15 years. He is currently studying the Doctoral Degree at the University of Queensland (UQ). His research aims to build upon his previous work, seeking significant findings that can be useful for coral reef conservation in Indonesia. His project proposes the use of AI for reef benthic identification to enhance coral reef monitoring in Indonesia. His vision is to create an integrated and accessible monitoring system that benefits both the public and stakeholders.

Raden Sutiadi

Computer Scientist

Sutiadi was born in Bandung, West Java, and has dedicated himself to coral reef conservation projects from 2004 to 2021. For over 17 years, he has been actively involved in various preservation programs funded by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, focusing on sustaining marine ecosystems. His extensive field experience has shaped his commitment to environmental preservation and the importance of integrating technology with conservation efforts to support coastal communities.

Currently, Sutiadi is pursuing a Master of Science in Computational Science at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), specializing in Artificial Intelligence and computer vision. Through his expertise, he is focused on developing AI-based solutions to support automated coral reef identification and monitoring processes. His long-term vision is to create an integrated monitoring system that not only simplifies ecosystem analysis but is also accessible and beneficial to local communities and key stakeholders in the field of conservation.
